The Story of
Valdar

It was during the time of the great war between the demons and the Jizmacks that a handful of humans fled there village from the carnage around them. They launched a boat somewhere off the north continent and head south towards lands unknown to them. Several days into there excursion the leviathan of the Great Ocean scuttled the ship with one massive swipe of its dorsal fin. The remnants of the ship and its crew drifted aimlessly, and one afternoon, what would seem like months to the survivors, the wreckage drifted slowly towards a volcano that towered out of the Great Ocean. As they neared the massive rock the currant seemed to be pushing the faster, and it lead them deep into what would seem the heart of the volcano. Towering rock on both sides of this mountain of land rose up cutting the sky like a dagger, and as they passed through the walls they saw a what they would now consider to be a myth. Land.

Their happiness did not last long, for a band of giants swept through enslaving them all. In the camp of these giants the humans were forced to serve as thralls bending to the will of the giants. As time progressed however the humans began to be absorbed into the village of the giants by learning their ways and some even taking to them in marriage, however the memories of being slaves still ran cold in their hearts and an opportunity for escape came, and was taken advantage of. A few of the half giants fled from their camps in search of the fabled land of their human relatives out of the reach of their captives. The ship was recorded to have landed somewhere south east west of Alinholt, and from there the now freed thralls went there separate ways.

The past repeats itself
One of the thrall women, Aesa daughter of Ivar, wandered the streets of Alanholt, and it was there where she found a love with a man. <This man's name is not known to Valdar or Orrandor> They lived together for some time and were later wed.

As Aesa needed more care for herself and the children she carried, her husband was required to leave her for long periods of time to gather the correct materials to ease Aesa's burdens of the pregnancy. It was on one of these days that Ivar's men found Aesa again, they took her captive with ease, fore she did not want to hurt the children she carried. She then departed with many of the others who had thought they had found freedom. And they all knew what awaited them, death.

As Aesa was taken before her father, he saw her womb full and decided before she was to be thrown to the wolves that she would give her children over to him, and upon giving birth to the children, Aesa was escorted to the pit of wolves. The twins cried for days as if some how they knew that their mother had passed.

A shift from Prime
A young thrall in the village of Ivar managed to grow in hate and spite for his captors having learned of the selling of his brother and the dishonorable killing of his mother. Upon his seventeenth birthday, Valdar had managed to secretly rally the thralls to rally against their masters and slay the entire Village. However they did not stop, they then continued spilling blood in each tribe, overthrowing the giants and their reign of terror over his kin. It was through this blood hunt that Valdar found his brother Orrandor. Together they overtook the southern section of Ranadon, however Orrandor felt a urge to find something new, and he convinced his brother to venture with him to the lands of myth. They took several half-giants with them and set in the direction of the land of their father, Alanholt.

The reclaiming of her own As the brothers searched for their father, their paths began to lead then in separate ways. For Orrandor, his path crossed with two men named Crunch and Torm. Not really knowing what a family was, Valdar allowed himself to slip from his brothers side, and sought elsewhere for family. While traveling the streets of Mesraht a beautiful woman walked the dark streets, and Valdar felt very drawn to her. Several nights they met talking and enjoying the company of one another. The more they talked the more she took him, he fell blind to her beauty and none could turn him from her. Many times Orrandor warned him that she was evil and would destroy him, but when questioned by Valdar, Orrandor could not give him a reason to leave this woman alone. Later that night Valdar followed this mysterious woman to a small room at the west side of Mesraht, and it was that night that the Overseer of the Damned was born.

With blind love Valdar followed Indi and her clan, giving all that he had to her. The evil nature of the beast within made him cold and hateful, and it raged within. Valdar used this to his advantage, putting terror into the lives of the living.

Damning the damned Rending his terror into the heart of the leader of Redemption found favor with a dark presence that walked the realms. He awoke one night and wandered about the halls of the damned looking for his queen. Indi greeted him warmly and as he smiled at her his eyes burned a bright emerald green. The terrified Queen pleaded with Valdar to purge this curse from his veins, fore she did not want a power to hold him. Valdar tried to reassure her that there was nothing wrong with this new found gift, but it worried Indi. It was in secret thought that Valdar tried to remove this gift from his veins that now made his eye burn green, but nothing was successful, and he did not tell his Queen because he did not wish to make her worried. Alone, he decided to wander the realms to seek out the cure, terrifying each mortal that he passed on the streets each night, feeding the Lord of the nightmare realms with new visions of horror from the mortals of Aurealis.

A dark deal After two years of searching and dealing with this new plague, it was Valdar's decision that this curse that overtook him was not a curse at all. He choose to embrace it fully and it was Cauchemar whom appeared before him immediately. Cauchemar offered Valdar great power with only one stipulation, to trap the Lord of Redemption in constant terror, so that Cauchemar could take Hawkeye's wife Lorelei, as Redemption's leader broke from the loss of sleep. Seeing no way to lose in this, Valdar decided to agree and sealed the deal with a handshake. As he touched the hand of Cauchemar he felt his very existence being pulled partly from Aurealis.

It was from his new home that Valdar taunted mortals as he sat in his father's house in the Nightmare realms. With the power of Cauchemar he could extend his presence to occupy any mind as it slept learning of Aurealis's dreams, desires, and fears. However, this deal did not bode well with his love, and Indi demanded that he part with Cauchemar.

Unseen consequences The dark deal did not bode well with his love Indi, and she demanded that he part with Cauchemar immediately. Trying to explain to his Queen that this was not possible, she refused to listen and saw his actions as selfish. In a fury she screamed to him that she would rather kill him then see him serve a demon. Valdar's heart was destroyed as he listened to endless threats and demands, and then finally Indi came to her final decision, and she turned to him slowly and said to him that he must choose between Cauchemar and herself. After hours of endless heart ripping words, Valdar slowly turned around and left the halls of the damned, unable to show his Queen that he could not purge this curse from him.

Still true to his clan, he watched them as the Overseer. He sought ways to purge the emerald green blood from his body, but not even the Shadowlord himself could affect him. While brooding in his own misery, he chose to pull others into his misery. Each night he learned of mortals fears and used them against them, terrifying them to further their nightmares. This fed his wicked ways and it managed to slightly remove his thoughts of the loss of his Queen.

It was upon returning to the Realms after months of occupying the Nightmare realm that something caused Valdar to rage. A new Vampire Sirocco, had been created and took the name of Lord of the Damned. In his heart, Valdar still wished to show Indi that he loved her and was trying to be with her again, but this act stabbed him in the back. He cursed and swore, and it was his decision to leave the clan forever. Indi sought him out with tear filled eyes, but Valdar felt to betrayed to listen to words. He tore her heart with words of truth to her, and seeing her error and lose she threw herself into the fire. With a broken heart, Valdar returned to seek out his brother Orrandor. After hours of talking, Valdar decided to purge himself of all that was of Indi, and as the last drop of vampiric blood bled, he felt his essence furthered into the realm of nightmares.

Valdar wanders the realm a dangerous force to be reckoned with in Aurealis. The one time vampire now walks the realms as an Element of the Nightmare Realm spreading terror in the hearts of mortals whom would be foolish enough to wrong him. It is in troubled times that Valdar plays the role of tormentor and advocate of all that is truly chaotic. It is well suggessted to approach him with much caution and regard, else fall to his rage and wrath in current times of turmoil.
