Shadow Company

Years ago in the floating city of triumveraal, a small "discolored" drakyn was born. The parents, ashamed of their outcast child left the deep south, and the floating city of their kind. They flew to the port of Aria, and booked passage to the northern continent where they would be less likely to run into others of their race. Staying in Nirenoft for a few nights at an inn, they heard of the perfect place, the Twin Towns, one of the few cities allowing drakyns to live within it's boundries.

As the years went by, Talen, as he was named, grew up in a city mostly populated by the smaller races, such as humans and elves. Always feeling out of place, and sneered at by the few drakyns around because of his coloring. Once in his teens he was attacked by an angry mob, beaten and left for dead, he heard a faint "voice" though no sound could be heard. This mysterious voice told him that he had a choice, he could die, young and unavenged, or he could live again, for a price. In his fear of death he quickly said he would do anything to live on and gain his revenge over those that did this to him. But, he acted to fast and did not ask the price of his new life, and when he found himself alive, his coloring changed, his whole body larger and more muscular, he also found blood coating his hands.

He looked about and found himself in a temple to some unknown god, priests, acolytes, dead.....torn limb from limb. he cried out in horror at the realization that it was his hands that wrought these unspeakable acts upon all in the temple, including small children and women. The voice came to him again, telling him in a satisfied tone, "Your payment has been received in full, and your life is granted to you, do with it as you wish. Should you die again I will not be there to save you." With this Talen went nearly insane, he ran from this bloody place and disappeared into the forests.

When he again emerged from the forests he was a changed person, garbed all in black, and wielding cruel looking weapons, the young drakyn boy was gone, replaced by Talen SilverKlaw. Warrior, though who taught him the art of war none know, maybe it is a left over bit of knowledge and skill from the power that controlled him, so many years before. He will not say, what he does admit to is his urge to stop a fate such as that which befell the poor patrons of that temple, from happening again. So in that instant that he realized he could help stop such atrocities, he formed the Shadow Company, a mercenary group, though more than money motivates them to action.

When asked if his company had any underlying goals, Talen's only answer was "Hire us or leave, our concerns are none of yours."
