| Description: | Pixies are humanoids who stand rarely shorter than 15 inches and rarely taller than 20 inches. 18 is the average. They posess a double set of wings, more like a dragonfly's than a butterflys, though their form does vary to a degree. These wings sprout from the upper back of the pixie, in the shoulderblade region, and typically span three quarters of the pixie's own height as they stick out to the sides. At the most, a pixie's longest wing will be half of his height. The wings are generally iridescent in hue, often rainbow though just as likely single-hued. They are translucent, much like a dragonfly's wings, and are composed of a very thin, but very tough, skin stretched over a lightweight chitin-like framework. Being of elven stock, pixies have delicately arched eyebrows and pointed ears, and often have slender, chisled faces. They tend towards the slender, though exceptions occur. Pixies' skin colour tends towards the pale, and is rarely if ever dark. Their hair and eyes span the normal range of elven colours, though specific bloodlines (and largely tribes - Winterthaw, Hazeldrift, Sunglory, etc.) tend to produce similar colour combinations (for example, 4 out of 5 Sunglory pixies have golden blonde hair). In all other aspects, they are miniature versions of elves. |
