| Description: | Yuannor are tall, fair-skinned bipeds. They were, at one point, the dominant species in the world, but their numbers have been dwindling until they more closely match those of the other races. Legends tell that, in ages past, the yuannor were the last of the races to be created, but were one of the most successful in mastering many crafts. But somehow, over the centuries, the expanse of yuannorian knowledge has shrunk, leaving them, while still versatile, not able to learn as many crafts as once they could. |
| Attitudes on: |
Elves: (Ale'un) |
"Obnoxious and snooty folk, they certainly are quick to judge other species, and take forever to forget a grudge. They also tend to be so damned superior in their attitudes, just because they live longer than we do. Oh well. We'll outnumber them soon, and then we'll see what happens to their holier-than-thou attitude then." |
Dwarves: (Eowujar) |
"Great miners and weaponsmiths, and they know their alcohol! They aren't always welcoming to outsiders, unless you come with money in your pockets, that is, or a good beer to trade, but when the odd are against you, they can be counted on to pull their weight." |
Ogres: (Gwirath) |
"Frightful-looking things, and the women are just as ugly as the men, but they're decent for heavy-lifting or as infantry in a battle. If you're looking for brawn without an overabundance of brains, these are the creatures you're looking for." |
Drakyn: (L'zyarn) |
"Giant walking winged lizards! By the fates, what next? When they can be convinced to 'condescend' to speak to us grounded folk, the L'zyarn can be worth dealing with, but that isn't often." |
Minotaurs: (Makkar) |
"The Makkar are fierce warriors and as quick with their blades as they are with their tempers. As long as one watches ones mouth around them, they can be useful, but they're too tempermental and unstable to be counted on in an emergency, except as something you can run faster than, that is." |
Nixies: (N'allarri) |
"Furless swimming bipedal otters, and without the cute in-water antics. They're useful for fetching things out of deep water, but they'd probably taste awful, although I hear the L'zyarn sell them on sticks in their food shoppes." |
Pixies: (P'allarri) |
"Talking butterflies with arms and legs. Yay. They make the Vandar look reserved and reliable. Never trust anything whose head doesn't even come up to your knee, although if you need someone to be a second-story man, they're acceptable, although they're so weak most of 'em can't even carry a spoon let alone a necklace or a big jewel." |
Prrmyr: (Prrymr) |
"My old gaffer taught me when I was a baby not to play with cats larger than I am. Since scratchers are as large as most of us, I take that to mean never turn my back on 'em, and I don't. Ever." |
Half-Elves: (S'Ale'un) |
"Decent enough folk. They get the short end of the stick from their Ale'unan cousins, so we feel for 'em, but they still got enough of the kindred spirits to be ever-so-snooty to use lowly yuannor." |
Half-Orcs: (S'Uloitha) |
"Poor bastards, they don't know how ugly they are. And in all fairness, neither us nor the pure Uloitha give 'em a fair shake, but they're just so damned powerful ugly..." |
Trokhon: (Trokhon) |
"These gents may look like big furry wolves, but you won't find a more honorable or dependable lot in all the Realms. You get one of them to befriend you, and it is their choice believe me, and you've got a body you can depend on for the rest of your days." |
Orcs: (Uloitha) |
"Strong. Well, that's the best way to describe them, both in physical presence and in the smell. Not the cleanest fellows, if you takes my meaning, but they're cunning warriors, as long as you place them downwind of the enemy that is." |
Halflings: (Vandar) |
"Cute little furry-footed pests. They aren't bad I suppose, but they do tend to get underfoot real quick, and they have the gall to get testy when you mistake them for one of your children." |
Zhaun: (Zha'un) |
"Damn shadows. Don't see 'em coming, can't ever catch 'em when they leave, and can't trust 'em for a whit. My gaffer says anything lives out of the sun that long ain't a thing to be turnin' yer back on." |
Cernunian: (Cernunian) |
"And I thought L'zyarn were the oddest thing walking. These are the most confusing species to deal with... they don't understand anything that has to do with the "blooded" species, and not a one of them looks like another, so you get told there's a swamper in the room, you're like as not to end up talking to a potted lyrberry plant as the swamper yer lookin' for." |
Gnomes: (Feinggar) |
"If these creatures has been content to remain in their tunnels, we wouldn't worry, but they seem to have such an odd nature, and they are so damned clever, almost too clever. We just don't trust them." |
