| Description: | Cernunian are a race of genderless intelligent plants that have recently begun leaving their homefields, wherever they may be, and entering the areas populated by the other civilized races of the Realms. They possess an odd ability to embody almost any skill or spell, even though they do not seem to possess any trait that sets them apart from the other races. In fact, compared to the mammalian races of the realms, they are rather weak and fragile, but they can learn any skill or spell known in the world, given enough time and patience. |
| Attitudes on: |
Humans: (Yuannor) |
"Species 819 seems most interested in propegation and power. It is for this reason they are classified as aggressive, but they do seem to possess rudimentary information-processing skills beyond that of other crimson-filled species. Their skills in manipulating simple objects is notable, but not extraordinary." |
Elves: (Ale'un) |
"Species 424 finds themselves most comfortable with our kind, and as such more is known about them. They have cast themselves, socially, as the protectors of our life-givers. For that, they are seen as both beneficient and suspect by the colony. They seem to have an affinity with the sortilege of the world, which is cause for concern, but not so much as to warrant action." |
Dwarves: (Eowujar) |
"Species 126 most closely resemble the Lifegiver, and seem to know both about its properties and how to find useful materials hidden within it. They seem discomfitted with us when in our presence, which is a seeming contradiction in their natures, presenting their species to us as a quandry." |
Ogres: (Gwirath) |
"Species 588 is a destructive race to the children of the Lifegiver, but this is due more to their size and lack of physical acuity than any deliberate choice. They display only the most rudimentary intelligence, but if they must be dealt with, physical distance is highly recommended." |
Drakyn: (L'zyarn) |
"Species 083 was first observed high within the lightspace, and noticed only when momentary disruptions of feeding occurred. They show little inclination to make contact with the Livegiver, as if they consider it inappropriate. Any species that cannot interface with the Lifegiver in a meaningful way is clearly deficient in some way" |
Minotaurs: (Makkar) |
"Species 662 are descended from predators of our foreleaves, so they were initially viewed as, and reacted to, as enemies. We have had to re-evaluate that opinion, and learned a lesson of stereotyping as well. They are still viewed as potentially dangerous, but there have been some who been able to speak with limited intelligence." |
Nixies: (N'allarri) |
"Species 787 are a wonder. Inhabitants of the worldponds, they understand some of the innate structure between the lifegiver, the lightspace and the worldponds. However, they are also capable of leaps in thought that escape logic and intelligent thought. Thus, while they are clearly mentally imbalanced, still, their very nature suggests hope for an eventualy flowering before their winter comes." |
Pixies: (P'allarri) |
"Species 271 is Yet another species that takes its lifepath within the lightspace. Such a curiosity is to be expected, but their consternation with us seems to indicate a lack of substantive character in their limited intelligences. They clearly lack a perceptual acuity found in more evolved beings. Perhaps when they have matured and grown sufficiently." |
Prrmyr: (Prrymr) |
"Species 1019, while crimson-filled, is also kin to us as the only other species apart from ourselves to have been created solely by the joining of the sortilege and the lifeworld. They are. however, undecipherable in their activities, and as such, while we cherish them as we would others of our own kind gone wild, we cannot embrace them as full members of the colony." |
Half-Elves: (S'Ale'un) |
"Species 940, originally classified as species 479, has since been determined to be a hybrid of species 424 and 819. We were unaware that such hybrids were considered to be separate species and not simply variations upon a single species, as our variations are so denoted. This species seems to embody an illogical fusion of intellectual and societal traits of both its founder-species, resultant in a truly confusing classification effort that is still underway." |
Half-Orcs: (S'Uloitha) |
"Species 942 was a second hybrid species discovered close on the roots of species 940. This species is a hybrid of species 819 and 337. Species 942 seems also considered undesirable by the others of the crimson-filled genus, giving us rise to think all of these types of creatures are inherently flawed and bigoted." |
Trokhon: (Trokhon) |
"Species 1122 initially seemed very similar to species 1019, but further examination and observation suggest that they are all but fully incompatible with each other socially and, one would assume, biologically. They do seem possessed with an inner way or ordering themselves, but again, it is highly illogical and incomprehensible to any evolved state of mind." |
Orcs: (Uloitha) |
"Species 337 are the most savage of the crimson-filled. They seem to have no hesitation with destroying anything that comes in their path. As such, the Colony has named them the only species to be interfered with as found appropriate by members. Such a wanton destruction of life must be opposed at every chance." |
Halflings: (Vandar) |
"Species 897 are another true curiosity. They seem to delight in something they call 'humor' but this is not a concept we have experience with, nor, it would seem, the fundamental perspective necessary to grasp. But, as it is not a tangible, we do not feel it is worthy of more than a cursory examination." |
Zhaun: (Zha'un) |
"Species 017, while first considered harmless, have been the cause of the loss of many of the Colony. Any species that cannot withstand the lightspace is immediately suspect, regardless of their limited intelligence. That such a being can live within its depths, and yet spurn part of the triad of being is truly disheartening and unsettling." |
Gnomes: (Feinggar) |
"Species 616 exhibits a curious propensity for construction, and are the only crimson-filled species that possesses the intelligence to rootlink with the Colony, if only they had the ability to so. We are investigating." |
