"It is true.
The Fated are no more. As things become more intense, and there became both more pain and more promise in the realms, the neutral political stance of the Shadowlord's agency began to chafe at myself and several others as well.
When the time came, and the Shadowlord decided to nullify the intelligence agency he has run for these many centuries, I called upon him. I told him of my disease with his sideline approach to the world. He seemed... amused by this, but he said he understood, and gave me his blessing to follow my own path in the wake of the dissolution of our former clan.
With the aid of my friend, Torm, we have founded a new guild, a guild dedicated to the precepts of honor, called The The Palladium.
We seek to protect what we see as the three tenets of living in honor:
- The lawful pursuit of livelihood
- The lawful pursuit of bliss
- The lawful pursuit of honor
To this end, we have formed a small band of hearty stalwarts who see the current glut of evil in this land as a blight upon honor, and something that must be opposed by all honorable souls.
I call upon all who would see honor restored to this land of lawlessness to join our noble cause. We seek not to turn the balance to good, but to restore the balance to the world so that all may seek the three tenets of life without fear of dishonor and without being impeded by those who feel honor is something they can life with out.
Seek myself or Holy Marshal Torm and speak with us should this life,
this... quest seem the one your heart calls out to you to follow."
-Knight Marshal Bhaal, leader of The The Palladium.
The Palladium
Precepts:
- To defend the defenseless against the forces of lawlessness.
- To protect the helpless against those who would take advantage of their weakened state.
- To champion the poor and fallen against those who would deprive them of their basic rights as intelligent creatures, those rights being:
- The lawful pursuit of livelihood.
- The lawful pursuit of bliss.
- The lawful pursuit of honor.
Code of Conduct:
- Each member of the The Palladium must seek to embody the precepts of the organization in everything they do, public or private. Honor and compassion, above all else, must be the light which guides their path through life, waking and restful.
- Each being, regardless of race of affiliation may seek aid if they have been wronged according to our precepts.
- Each situation must be judged by the honor of the The Palladium, and if the being requesting aid is found wanting by honor, the The Palladium must investigate the situation to its fullest and those who are truly oppressed must be aided, even in direct opposition to the original requestor if necessary.
- A member of the The Palladium must seek to equalize the wrong in the most appropriate honorable manner within our the laws of the community in which they work. If no local laws are in force, the common beliefs of the area inhabitants may be interpreted as law, or the innate law of honor may be used instead.
- If, at any time during the attempted aid, the member of the The Palladium discovers their cause to be less than fully just, they must immediately seek to determine the honorable course of action and begin to act upon it immediately, even if it places the The Palladium member or the guild itself in direct opposition with the person or persons who originally enlisted our aid.
- If, at any time, a member of the The Palladium engages in dishonorable behavior, they will be called to answer for their actions before a tribunal of no less than one, no more than three ranking members. Should a guilty verdict be rendered, the violator will be exiled from the The Palladium until such time as he or she restores their personal honor to an extent suitable to those who sat in judgement over them.
Rank:
Each member of the The Palladium will be accorded a rank commensurate with their abilities and actions before and during their membership. Rank carries with it certain duties, which are as follows:
| Knight Marshal: |
The Knight Marshal is the ultimate leader of the The Palladium. It falls to he/she and he/she alone to serve as a leader for the guild, to preside justly and fairly over the judgement of matters pertaining to the guild, and to work with the Holy Marshal to ensure the honor of the members of the The Palladium at all times. Padrone may induct new members to the The Palladium, upon their personal honor, when a suitable and willing candidate is located. |
| Holy Marshal: |
The Holy Marshal is the spiritual leader of the The Palladium. He/She is responsible for supporting and ensuring the honor of the guild, and working with the Knight Marshal in matters of spirit and emotion. The Holy Marshal answers only to the Knight Marshal, and may speak for the Knight Marshal in his absence. Padrone may induct new members to the The Palladium, upon their personal honor, when a suitable and willing candidate is located. |
| Padrone: |
The Padrone are the active arm of the Guild. They are the Cavaliers who have proven themselves to be of sound and honorable stature, and carry with them the message and honor of the The Palladium to the world at large. All Padrone answer solely to the Holy Marshal or the Knight Marshal in matters pertaining to Guild decision-making. Padrone may induct new members to the The Palladium, upon their personal honor, when a suitable and willing candidate is located. |
| Archon: |
The Archon are the passive arm of the Guild. They are the Footmen, those who have been inducted fully but have yet to attain Padrone rank. The Archon are men and women who will spread the word of the The Palladium through their actions. All Archon may undertake actions on behalf of the The Palladium, but before the Guild will support the action in an official capicity, if such support is desired, it must be ruled acceptable by one of Padrone rank or higher. |
| Elector: |
The Elector are those who are beginning their work within the The Palladium. Being an Elector is the first step in becoming a full-fledged member of the The Palladium, but Elector status is conditional and temporary. After a set period of time, the worthiness of the Elector will be judged by the Padrone, the Holy Marshal and the Knight Marshal, and they will either be promoted to Archon status, or released from the Guild. Electors must demonstrate the embodiment of the precepts of the The Palladium in order to be granted Archon rank. |
