The Origin of
Kayleigh

Kayleigh was born to a couple in Sylvandell years ago. Unfortunately, in one of the Drow/Elven uprisings, her father, Barak ip Melhrood, a comman wan, was fighting to save the lives of his family and people when he was struck with such a mighty blow that it knocked him out completely. When Barak came to his senses, he was plunging off the cliff near Alanholt. His fate was not a pretty one.

Kayleigh's mother, Melawei, so distraught by the loss of her husband, left to study with the Cleric's guild in Fate's Peak far to the west. While Melawei was away, Kayleigh stayed with her mother's friend, Aeia, as all her other relatives had passed over to the other Realm. Kayleigh was brought up by Aeia quite well. Kayleigh was a spirited youth, full of life and spirit. Her spirit could not be harnessed by houses and businesses, she often snuck away down to the forest floor to camp and hunt and fish. There she was approached by Crom and Balefire, a pair of experienced adventurers to join their small band and learn the ways of the warrior. FOr a time she studied swordsmanship from the experts in Nirenoft. After years of studying with these courageous men, she walked down her own path, helping others as she was helped along the path of life. She was even hired as a mercenary for those who could not do battle for themselves.

As time passed Kayleigh's knowledge of the realms around her grew and grew until she knew the stories and tales of times past, not only about her family and people, but also those who dwell in the entire Realms...until on dreadful battle.

Kayleigh and another elf, Felyana Tarussin (known as Fella to her friends), found themselves in a battle with the villan, Marrak who plagues Mahn-Tor. A fierce battle ensued after Fella mistakenly stepped on Marrak's ingrown toe nail. Kayleigh stepped in to rescue her friend when the beast dealt her a mighty blow, making her elven ears ring. Fella was able to scare the awful menace off with a series of lightning spells. By the time the monster stormed off, time had run out of Kayleigh's life. She was dead!

Fella dropped to her knees and began praying to Mouseglove, the immortal, to please restore her friend's life, as she was so important to the Elven people. Mouseglove appeared from the shadows and immediately recognized an immense worth in the soul of this creature sprawled out before him in her own death scene. He knelt beside her broken body, murmurring words that could be heard but could never be remembered. Color began to flush back into her tender cheeks and her eyelids began to flutter. As she opened her eyes, a vision of what must have been heaven flashed quickly before her, even before her eyelids were all the way open. Mouseglove whispered in Zhaunil to the creature before him. She simply nodded, if that is what one would call the brief tilt of her head. Mouseglove responded by clasping his hands before him until they glowed with such a brilliance as to outweigh ten thousand suns. He laid his palms on her temples, closed his eyes, and whispered "It is done". Kayleigh scrambled to her feet noticing her environment with her new immortal eyes. Mouseglove asked her as a personal favor if she would take on the task of watching over the forest of silver and the people who infabit it. She agreed.

Until this day, Kayleigh may descend from the skies upon her silver leaf to help someone in need or just wander around listening to the stories of the Realm.
